Idea

As storytellers, we believe to tell stories that surround us, but are seldom noticed. Portrait of a Song is one such story.

Synesthesia is seen as a problem and because of the complexity of understanding the condition, not a lot of people know about it. There has been very few media coverage related to the condition. Through this film we are trying to explore and understand one of the types of synesthesias (out of over 60 of them) - chromesthesia.

Because of the limited audience of Art-house genre, it is very difficult to make a film for masses with subjects like this. We want the story to be pure and true to the nature of the condition, rather than making it sellable. The challenge is to make it interesting at the same time. You want to know about something, but do not want to drag yourself through the film. Hopefully, this film finds a perfect balance between the two and is true to the condition and its genre.
